DAY TWELVE: STUDENT ACTIVITES

DAY TWELVE May 25 2021 Today was our last day of the senior project. This meant we needed to finish all of the tasks. We worked mostly on our poster board for express fest tomorrow. We also worked more on the playlist and added the finishing touches to the slideshow for the boat. Today we also got food for the senior seminar which was really good and was rewarding to see one of our tasks successfully finish. The food was really good. Overall this senior project has been so much fun and I would recommend other students to do something like it.  HOURS: 60

DAY ELEVEN: STUDENT ACTIVITIES

DAY ELEVEN MAY 24 2021 Today we started out with starting our poster for the express fest. We also worked on the playlist. The playlist is coming along but we still ask are asking our classmates for ideas.  As the day continued we worked on our presentation. We also prepared food for the seminar on Tuesday. We called the smoke shack and the refinery. The smoke shack ended up working and they are delivering the food to us. HOURS: 54

WEEKLY REFLECTION

WEEKLY REFLECTION  Once again this week we learned about organizing big events. We continued to work towards the boat and we also worked towards the spring fling. Something new I learned this week was how to rent things for the spring fling. We worked on a website to rent inflatables for this weekend. This was both fun and challenging. Something challenging that we faced was some of the inflatables were sold out, so when we were ready to rent something and they found out that it was sold out it was frustrating and sometimes took us a long time to find an in-stock one. Another new thing that I learned was sometimes we will run into issues with events we set up. Jazlyn and I found that the game splash had some issues and we had to pause the game and restart it. With this being said it was hard to get in contact with everyone that was involved in the game. We just started the game with the people that answered our email. This week we continued to work on the boat slide show. We also star

DAY TEN: STUDENT ACTIVITIES

DAY TEN MAY 21 2021 Today we worked on the dance playlist. This was something that took time because we want to make sure there are songs involved that everyone likes. With this being said it is hard to get kids to fill out google forms. So we made a google form that was anonymous. Once we made this alot of people added songs that they like and it gave us a lot more songs to add. The songs slowly started to flood in but while this was happening we worked on the softball game that is happening on Sunday. We made a google form that people filled out. This week was very successful.   HOURS: 50

DAY NINE: STUDENT ACTIVITIES

DAY NINE FRIDAY MAY 20 2021 Today we worked on the playlist for the upcoming dance. We sent out an email that asked for song suggestions but not a lot replied. Tomorrow we will send out another email. At 11 we had our senior seminar with Kelly. Having the seminar in the middle of the day was good and gave us a break from our work. As the day continues on we worked on the playlist and the slideshow. We are finally approaching our final tasks.  HOURS:44

DAY EIGHT: STUDENT ACTIVITIES

DAY EIGHT WEDNESDAY MAY 20 Today started out slow with contacting our friends at other private schools to get a feel of their ideas. With this being said we also looked at their weekend activities from the past. We reached out to one of our friends from Tilton to get a direct source. Looking at other schools' weekends has made it clear that Proctor has the best. We put the final touches on ideas. We also brainstormed ideas for food. For one day of the seminar. Lastly, we organized the folded napkins into their storage buckets and we will wait for the day to put them out on the table. HOURS: 37

DAY SEVEN: STUDENT ACITIVITES

DAY SEVEN TUESDAY, MAY 18 2021 Today was filled with different tasks. We started the day by working on the final details for this coming weekend. This task was tricky because we had to reach out to an inflatable company that is booked to come. With this being said some of the rentable things were already rented so we had to change our plans. After this was done I fixed the Splash game. The splash game is resumed now and is working very well. I think we might do a senior splash game, many people have requested that. The day ended with folding another 200 napkins.  HOURS: 33

DAY SIX: STUDENT ACTIVITIES

DAY SIX: MONDAY MAY 17 Today the day started off slow with working on the weekend plans. This process can be complicated and take lots of time. The goal is to have something that most people will enjoy doing. As we worked on this I also had to work on finishing the problems in  splash. This was confusing but with the help of Jazlyn rhe game was able to get fixed. We then moved onto folding napkins. We have folded around 300 napkins and are aiming for 500. As the week continues we will be working on the spring fling week. W e will also be working on the senior slide show finishing details. We will also be working on finishing the napkins. HOURS: 27

WEEKLY REFLECTION: MAY 16

REFLECTION: This week started with getting the overall idea of what student activities do and how much work they put into every event. Some new things I learned this week were the process of setting up a big event for a large number of people. We started the game splash which is a school-wide water gun game where each person has a target to get out of. Planning this event felt easy at first but it became very clear how much work goes into it. Another thing I learned was the process of getting a food truck and how to properly reach out to other big companies, lastly I also learned how to fold napkins in the pyramid style.  This week we also worked on the slide show for the senior boat event. I did like what I was doing and all of the different tasks kept me very busy and I never had nothing to do, something that I learned was how much work goes into the events run at Proctor and how stressful it can be to have events that everyone will like. I was really surprised by the number of peo

DAY FIVE: STUDENT ACTIVITIES

Image
DAY FIVE Friday, May 14 2021 Today is the day that splash started. The day started out with adding the final touches to the game. Once club time came around students started to pile in hoping to get their target and their water gun. Kids drew names with their target, but the game didn't start in the morning. The name drawings continued during both lunches. When the last block of the day rolled around Jaz and I sent out the email saying that the game had started. Kids ran from class to class. This was our first big event that we planned.

DAY FOUR: STUDENT ACTIVITIES

Image
DAY FOUR Thursday, May 13, 2021 Today we started our day will writing all of the names on a piece of paper for the game of splash. Once the names were all written on the paper we put it into a basket where the players will pick a name and that will be the target. After we finished with that we moved onto getting food trucks. Once I researched food trucks based out of New Hampshire I started trying to get into contact with these companies. This was a very difficult task because most of these food trucks serve as a restaurant as well. I called around four companies and ended leaving a message for all of these companies. Once I left messages at these food truck restarunts I moved onto finding bouncy houses and obstacle courses for the spring fling event. I found a company based out of New Hampshire but once again I left a message with my information hoping they will call me back. After this was done I sent out an email about the splash game that will start tomorrow, I am excited to see

DAY THREE: STUDENT ACTIVITIES

DAY THREE: Wednesday, May  Today the day started out slow with finalizing details for this weekend. The home games have added some excitement to the weekend plan. After finalizing this we continued making our way down the list of seniors to make the senior slide show the best it can be. We are currently at the p last names. As the day continued I worked on the game of splash. The game of splash is a lot more complicated than I thought. I thought that I could just put the names in a name generator and that would work for the player's targets. That did not work. After a lot of thought and trial and error, we decided that tomorrow we will write the names of all of the players and place them into a hat and as the players come in they will choose their target. I am really hoping this strategy works tomorrow. I am super excited to see this weekend unload and all of our hard work pay off. Tomorrow we also look forward to finishing up the napkin folding process.

DAY TWO: STUDENT ACTIVITIES

Image
DAY TWO: Tuesday, May 8 2021 Today the day started at nine where we worked on the final details of weekend activities for this upcoming weekend. Learning this process has shown how difficult it can be to plan for a large group of people, it is important to have activities that involve everyone and hopefully have people out of their room engaging in fun activities. While Jazlyn and I were planning these final details we also moved onto working on the slide show pictures. I sent out an email talking about "splash" which is a game where students that sign up get a water gun and they have a target that they have to splash before they get splashed by another opponent. During our short lunch break, Jazlyn and I had our splash guns hoping to get people excited. The development office was the next destination.  We carried around four plastic containers that will soon be filled with napkins for senior dinner. We brought these to the dining hall where we started folding the napkins.

DAY ONE: STUDENT ACTIVITIES

Image
DAY ONE: Monday, May 10 2021 Today we started the day off by making coffee for the coffee cart, we made around three gallons of coffee. When the coffee was done we carried it to the fridge and we also carried one container up to the coffee cart. As the morning continued we started collecting pictures of the seniors from Flikr from their first day at proctor to their most recent.  The next step was to pick the last numbers out of the bucket for graduation. We picked numbers for students that were either off-campus or online. As the day continued we took a short lunch break and then got back to work, working on the activities planned for this weekend. While this was all taking place we also learned how buying food for dorms works and how the receipts get processed by the development  office. We ended the day by getting more Flikr photos.
